Mecca’s Experienced Personal Trainers Help You
Achieve Your Fitness Goals
Each trainer at the Mecca Gym has a four-year degree in the field of kinesiology. Kinesiology is the study of body movement. It addresses physiological, biomechanical, and psychological reasons a body moves as it does. This knowledge is crucial to Mecca’s trainers because it establishes a foundation upon which they are able to provide effective coaching. At Mecca, we mentor our trainers and continue their education by applying the knowledge they have obtained through their study. Additionally, Mecca’s trainers are certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association or NSCA.
Our personal trainers prioritize your fitness goals and focus on:
- Evaluation of skills and progress
- Attention to detail
- High level of care
We’re proud to be able to apply cutting edge training techniques when working with clients. In addition to that, we provide the most current nutritional research to help our clients achieve their goals. Our personal fitness trainers study, read, and continue developing themselves professionally in order to remain experts in their specialties. Each of our trainers is paired with clients depending on the specialty needed, demographics, and client preference.
What You Can Expect From Our Trainers:
Personal training begins with an initial consultation, which is free of charge. This fitness consultation usually takes 45 minutes and allows you to meet the trainer and be evaluated. At this time the trainer will gather the information needed for program design and recommendation of personal training packages. The trainer may decide to go over items like your goals, a diet journal, current exercise routine, hobbies, occupation, previous athletic experience, previous or current injuries, allergies, and current body composition.
In your first session, you and your personal trainer will go through your new program in detail. The body composition and movement evaluation will take you through a series of exercises and movements. At Mecca, we do this with every client to evaluate skill level, kinesthetic awareness, proprioception, joint integrity, muscular imbalances, muscular hyper/hypotension, form, and technique. This allows the trainer to properly program what exercises are best suited for you.
After the movement evaluation, your trainer will sit down with you to discuss the final program in detail. This is to make sure both you and your trainer agree on expectations for future sessions. Because diet is such an important component to meeting fitness goals, you will be taught to accurately track macro and micronutrients. You will be expected and encouraged to adhere to your exercise guidelines and track your progress. Proper documentation will allow you and your trainer to alter your program as needed in the future. You will have direct access to your personal trainer for any questions and concerns you have.
At Mecca, you will be continuously monitored by your personal trainer so that you achieve maximum results. You are not in this alone. Some of the things your trainer will be doing on a regular basis are: monitoring hunger satiety, satisfaction, digestive health and food sensitivities. To determine food sensitivities, your personal trainer will be monitoring for IBS, lack of fiber in the diet, poor nutrient timing, and other digestion issues.
Hormone function is also something to be mindful of during your physical transformation. We’ll be looking for indicators like energy function, changes in your ability to metabolize body fat, mood swings, and poor sleeping patterns. If a change in hormone function is suspected, your trainer can refer you to a medical professional who specializes in hormones. Stress has an amazing influence on the body, and can directly affect weight loss and body composition. In order to improve performance, stress is taken very seriously. Our personal trainers have the skills and knowledge to teach you how to naturally cope with stress triggers.
If you find yourself having difficulty correctly performing a particular movement, the trainer will spend hands-on time coaching you until it is performed correctly. In place of difficult exercises, your trainer may assign corrective exercises or accessory movements to help you learn movement patterns. You will be coached to work on mobility and flexibility. Mecca’s trainer will work hard to evaluate your posture, joint position, muscle balance, and anything that impacts your movement during exercise. Your personal trainer will always be there to guide you through your fitness and diet program.
